What should I do if I am arrested?
If you are arrested by a police officer for suspected criminal activity, you should always comply with his or her orders. Don’t try to escape or run. If you are interrogated, you do not have to answer the questions if you do not want to. You do have the right to consult with an attorney before speaking with the police about your situation. The police officer is required to read you the Miranda warning before questioning you, which will remind you of this right.
If you would like to learn more about your rights while under arrest, the Boca Raton criminal lawyers of Eric N. Klein & Associates, P.A. can help. Contact our offices today at 561-353-2800 to speak with an attorney about your questions and concerns.
