54-year old Joe Ricky Dailey of Auburndale, Florida, was taken to Lake County jail today on charges of DUI manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident involving death, reckless driving, and refusal to submit a breathalyzer test.
Dailey caused an accident last week in South Lake that resulted in the death of a pedestrian, 59-year old Ronald Richard Allen of Kissimmee, walking across U.S. 92 at Town Center Boulevard. Witnesses said that Dailey was driving recklessly and without his headlights on.
Police found Dailey later that night in Osceola County where he claimed that he thought a brick or rock hit his windshield. Dailey is being held without bond.
