A third suspect was arrested last Thursday for involvement in the shoot-out with a Boca Raton police officer.
19-year old Robert Alvarez of Greenacres, Florida was the driver of the green Jeep pulled over by Officer Shannon Wendlick on June 8th. Officials said that as Wendlick approached the Jeep, Alvarez began to back up the vehicle and forcing the officer to move out of the way. A second suspect, 17-year old Ramon Rosario, then exited the vehicle with a gun and pointed it at Wendlick, who then shot Rosario three times in self-defense.
Rosario and another accomplice, Angel Machado, were arrested before Alvarez. Rosario had bail set at $310,000 last week. A Palm Beach County judge ordered Alvarez to be held on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and conspiracy to commit armed robbery without bail.
