The New York Giants play the New England Patriots this weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium in the 46th Super Bowl game.  In the 2008 Super Bowl, the Giants beat the Patriots, and this year’s game is another highly anticipated matchup.

The Patriots have a 15-3 record, and the Giants have a 12-7 record.  The Giants beat the Patriots in their regular season game.  The Patriots’ head coach, Bill Belichick, will make his fifth Super Bowl appearance over the last 11 seasons.

Boca Raton man arrest for DUI in his dune buggy

Michael Biscardi III, 43, of Boca Raton, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence when he was found driving his dune buggy late at night.

Biscardi was found driving his dune buggy through an unlit construction site on city property at 10:15pm on Thursday Jan 12 at the 1500 block of NW 40th Street.  When police spotted him, he tried to drive away through Mizner Park passing the patrol car.

After failing a sobriety test, Biscardi’s alcohol level was twice the legal limit.

Obama to visit Disney World in Orlando on Thursday

Boca Raton domestic violence attorneys of Eric N. Klein & Associates, P.A. are happy to announce the visit of President Obama at Walt Disney World in Orlando this coming Thursday.

The president will make a speech at Magic Kingdom park in Walt Disney World on Thursday as part of his “We Can’t Wait” action speeches to discuss tourism and travel.  The speeches discuss how job creation through executive action and bypassing congressional approval will help aid the economy.

Judge doesn’t allow man facing DUI manslaughter to leave the country

A judge ruled that Mario Caraega, 43, may not leave the country for business after being charged with DUI manslaughter.

Caraega requested a business trip to travel to Mexico City for his Fort Lauderdale insurance brokerage firm. Caraega was released on $10,000 bond after being charged for DUI manslaughter in September 2010 when he hit and killed Miami Heat dancer, Nancy Lopez-Ruiz on her motorcycle.

At the time of the crash, police reported that Caraega swerved into Lopez-Ruiz’s lane on East Sunrise Boulevard.

2012 Discover Orange Bowl tomorrow night

Boca Raton criminal attorneys of Eric N. Klein & Associates, P.A. are excited to announce the 2012 NCAA Discover Orange Bowl on Wednesday Jan 4 at 8:30pm at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.

The West Virginia Mountaineers play against the Clemson University Tigers in this ACC/Big East matchup.  West Virginia’s record is 9-3, and Clemson’s is 10-3.  Dana Holgerson is West Virginia’s head coach who is new this season.  WVU has had a slew of injuries this season including running back Dustin Garrison who was injured during bowl practice and safety Terrence Garvin.

Tajh Boyd, quarterback for Clemson, pulled out of WVU before the beginning of the season and went to Clemson. Boyd is an exceptional player and will be the challenge that WVU faces if they want to win this game.

Boca Raton man arrested for fatal DUI crash

Gary Costa, 42, of Boca Raton, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after crashing his vehicle into a police officer’s cruiser killing one woman.

According to police, Costa crashed his Jeep into a Lighthouse Point police cruiser at the intersection of Copans Road and Federal Highway  in Pompano Beach.  After the Jeep hit the concrete median, it rolled onto the passenger side ejecting passenger Amanda Nicole Smith, 26, of Coconut Creek and pinning her.  She died at the scene of the crash.

The police officer was taken to a local hospital, and Costa was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, and failure to use due care.

Ocala man charged with DUI

Bradley Taylor Dodd, 23, was charged with driving under the influence after crashing his truck into a utility pole on Wednesday in Ocala.

According to police, the incident occurred at Northwest 70th Avenue Road and Northwest 35th Street.  Dodd claimed that the tires of the truck pulled him off the road and he lost control.  The truck hit a utility pole which snapped in half and left power lines in the road.

Dodd failed a sobriety test and was charged with DUI.

Florida teacher arrested after crime spree with former student

Amanda Cooney, 25, teacher at Okaloosa Academy Charter School in Crestview, FL, left a note of resignation on her desk in her classroom before starting a crime spree with her 16 year old former student/alleged lover.

According to police, Cooney and the student committed crimes of petty theft and credit card fraud up to Ohio.  The two were arrested in Riverside, OH.

Police in Ohio found Cooney and the student after scanning Cooney’s green Ford license plates and saw warnings that they were armed and dangerous.  Upon arrest, authorities found drug paraphernalia, stolen credit cards, and a stolen 9mm semiautomatic pistol.

An investigation was opened for suspicion of unlawful sexual activity between the two at the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.  Cooney is also being charged with burglary of a vehicle, petty theft, forgery and fraudulent use of a credit card.
