Palm Bay police arrested a teenage boy Monday, in connection with a series of brush fires in the city last week.
According to officials with the Palm Bay Police Department, a 14 year-old boy admitted to setting five small brush fires around the city last week. Police say they do not believe the boy is connected to over sixty other brush fires that have occurred in the city since November.
Police say the teenager admitted to setting the brush fires because he was angry with residents who lived in the area. No damage resulted from the fires.
The boy admitted to setting fires on Alminar Avenue, Southeast Wade Street, Southeast Gulfport Road, Southeast Salina Street, and Sourhteast Merrimac Street.
The boy will likely be charged with misdemeanor reckless and unlawful burning of land.
