Authorities say a man robbed the Florida Capital Bank at 1801 South Federal Highway at around 6:00 p.m. on Monday and brandished a handgun while demanding money. During a struggle with the robber and bank employees, the bank manager was reportedly shot in the stomach.
The man left with an undisclosed amount of cash and Boca Raton police are still trying to identify the suspect.

Officials at Florida A&M University recently released statistics for on-campus crimes for the 2008-2009 year, and reported that crime increased in nearly every category, including robbery, motor vehicle theft, and rape. The FAMU police department issued a statement regarding the statistics for the year and promised to dedicate more resources to protecting the students and faculty from serious crimes.

A Florida man pleaded guilty on cocaine-related charges and was sentenced to 22 weeks in jail.
Officials say that the man sold powder cocaine to someone at his home on May 13. The police then got a warrant to search his house. He then told the police that he had powder cocaine, crack cocaine, and a handgun in his bedroom.
